To get more from your visit to the Loire Valley, consider a two day trip and spend a night in a chateau or elegant private home. All of our one day tours can be combined into two days, or we can design a custom tour especially for you. We are not allowed to book your accommodation but we are happy to suggest hotels and chambres d'hotes (B&Bs) that we know from personal experience or because our clients have enjoyed them.
We start in the medieval town of Loches, home of both French and English kings and part of Joan of Arc's story. Discover the dungeon where Lorenzo Sforza was held prisoner for four years, and then if you have the energy, climb the 300 steps to the top of the castle keep. After lunch we drive to the beautiful village of Montrésor where we explore the village, rated as one of the most beautiful in France, and its chateau.
On the way back to your accommodation we visit a family run winery for a private tasting.
After meeting you at your hotel we visit either the renaissance chateau of Azay le Rideau or medieval Langeais. After a relaxed lunch we stop to enjoy the world renowned gardens of Villandry. En route to your accommodation we either visit the 1000 year old caves of a Vouvray winemaker, or the chateau of Candé, venue for one of the most controversial weddings of the 20th Century..
€2930(euros) for two people starting in Tours.
Includes all entry fees, tasting costs, and lunch with wine each day in carefully selected restaurants
Our classic cars only have a small trunk so we are unable to carry large amounts of luggage. If you are coming for a longer break we suggest you travel to Tours by train and use the efficient public transport system to travel to your accommodation.
